As managing director of the southeast region for Stifel Nicolaus & Company, James Dixon of Mountain Brook, Alabama, leverages more than 30 years of financial advisory experience to manage investment portfolios for high-end clients. He has been with the Birmingham firm since 2015 and is also a member of its Private Client Managers' Round-Table. In addition, Mountain Brook resident James Dixon is a member of the Securities Industry and Financial Markets Association's Private Client Services Committee and Retail Fixed Income Committee.
Prior to joining Stifel Nicolaus & Company, James Dixon spent more than 20 years in roles at Sterne Agee & Leach, Inc. During his last seven years with the firm, he was division president of its Private Client Group. He also worked in its fixed-income trading and equity trading departments.
Before pursuing a career in finance, Mr. Dixon graduated from the University of Alabama with a bachelor of arts. He later earned an MBA in finance from the school and completed additional financial education at Florida State University and The Wharton School at the University of Pennsylvania. Active in his community, he is a member of the local HOA and board member of the Independent Presbyterian Church in Birmingham.
